SUM Air was granted its Air Carrier License (ACL) by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) in South Korea on February 17, 2025, but it has not yet received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC). The ACL is a prerequisite for the AOC, and SUM Air is now in the process of applying for the AOC, which will allow the airline to begin commercial operations with its ATR 72-600 aircraft.
